pcl2tiff is a suite of programs and libraries that convert PCL print files to and from TIFF format. GUI and console programs are provided to perform the conversions. A DLL library, a library for the Lua scripting language and an ActiveX control are also provided, to allow conversions to be invoked from most languages and script. The pcl2tiff package is suitable for CGI, batch, standalone or ASP conversion of print files to TIFF.
pcl2tiff requires Windows NT4 or later. Windows 9x is not supported.

pcl2tiff will convert HP PCL2, PCL3, PCL4 PCL5 and most of HP/GL. (PCL6 is not supported.) Not every combination of features of PCL5 are supported (although we do better than most). For this reason the demonstration version is distributed to enable users of the software to decide whether pcl2tiff fullfils their requirements.

pcl2tiff has been tested with output generated by a wide variety of print drivers and applications from a variety of operating systems. Accurate transformation and rendering is dependent upon the style of PCL used, the installed Windows fonts and the operating system that is in use.
